Sonoma Financial Corps.' Prepares Release of Store Growth Figures; Payday Check Advance, Inc.'s Stores Continue to Grow

CHICAGO--(BUSINESS WIRE)--July 28, 1999--Sonoma Financial Corporation/VictorMaxx Technologies, Inc. (OTCBB: VMAX) today released plans for their future store expansion. Sonoma expects to release figures for Q1 store growth in the next few days.

Terrence Donati, President of Sonoma Financial Corp. said, "We have been experiencing strong growth in the payday check advance market. We believe we have the proper game plan to continue our growth well into the future expanding our chain with profitable store operations and chain acquisitions."

Sonoma Financial is currently exploring other geographic markets as well. "To date, we have been primarily based in the Greater Chicago area," Donati said, "and we are seeking to develop our presence in other markets. The quickest and most efficient way to do this is through acquisitions. So far we have examined several markets outside of the area and surrounding states, and we hope to make our findings public within the next month."

In fiscal year 1998, store growth was up 11,500%; at the end of the year Payday had 23 stores open.

Sonoma Financial Corporation is a financial services company that owns and operates a chain of stores devoted to providing low documentation, short-term consumer loans. The company intends to become the national leader in the "Payday Loan" market by strategically opening new stores, penetrating new markets and by chain acquisition. Sonoma Financial is currently the only publicly traded company with a sole focus on 'payday advances'. Ace (NASDAQ:AACE) and First Cash Financial Services (NASDAQ:FCFS), have proven the viability of the concept in other markets, but are not specifically focused in this area.
