I got the same impression before. However, I found out recently that these big high tech companies are approaching the web hosting in a different way. It seems to me that they are targeting a different market segment in the web hosting business other than what EXDS is going for. Anyway, frankly speaking, EXDS is still a mystery to me. I feel that EXDS is more like a service company than a high tech company. Also, I am still wondering the reason why there is no competition from any of the S&P 500 companies for EXDS (just as you do). However, some of my friends working in the investment business told me that I do not need to worry too much about competition for EXDS for the next two to three years. I hope they are right. Lucinos

IMHO it is almost too late for these guys to kick exds out of the number one position. With their 80% of the high end market, they can easily absorb some new competitors in a rapidly growing market. Estimates are for the hoasting revenues to increase by a magnitude of over 15 in the next 3 1/2 years. Now, as far as competitive competition, here is my take...ibm and intel and t are no slouches...nontheless, exodus is the clear leader and the only company with the experience level equal to theirs. The hosting decision is made after thorough research I am sure. When in doubt, you go with the leader. No one will get a mark on their resume for selelcting exodus, it is the safe choice for mission critical jobs.
