A clear explanation of EBAY's earnings is in this link - or maybe not so clear. It goes on to explain the lunacy of this market.

fnews.yahoo.com

"What I can do, however, is utilize my ten-plus years of financial analysis to examine eBay's profitability last quarter. I do not have an ax to grind with the company -- I have never used the service and have no position in the stock. I picked eBay simply because it reported earnings yesterday and many sleight-of-hand tricks used by Corporate America can be seen in its press release..."

So actually maybe I'm not surprised EBAY doesn't want their shareholders or registered users to listen to the Q&A of the conference call. It would confuse the freaking hell out of people, excuse my french. It's actually better that you get the nice rosy headline from CBS Marketwatch or something saying how EBAY beat estimates by 1 cent.

This equities market, especially in the face of this internet frenzy, is absolute lunacy. I'm just glad I'm able to make a buck from it.

I have one lousy question. Has anyone ever bothered to add up the valuation of all the junk internet IPO's that are out now? They have absolutely got to be riduculous. Companies making thousands, but their CEO's damn proud that they own a billion dollar company. What a joke.

My hand goes out to Warren Buffet, who is the only one who will survive this crash when it happens.

haha :)

Hello...this is the wife of KHS addressing your particular comment about eBay. I am an avid user of eBay and proudly support it all the way! I have met numerous people, dealers, and customers through eBay's auctions, and I doubt considerably if the end of eBay is coming! It is outstanding in its setup, and it's format is most attractive! Please do not be so critical of something that is a thrill to many people out there! Your words expressing lack of confidence in eBay, I find most annoying and unjustifiable. Some people are just learning about eBay, and those that have been using it are simply impressed with its ability to increase their sales and growth of their small businesses. For one to be so negative is sheer ludicrous! Do not destroy other peoples dreams here with your comments of nonsense....allow eBay to grow ....SIT BACK AND RELAX while others are doing hard work. Thanks for your time and consideration to this matter, Jackie

<ebay will be $10> Mr. Pacific: With 4 times average volume being traded, up 8, with a market near a short term bottom, would not want to be short going into tomorrow.

I understand the battle goes on and on. Anyway, we can all make returns and live in harmony.
