Ben, the old formula: IOM bad, IOM's competitors good, anyone predicting anything good for IOM - must be discredited. And this from
the guy(s) who made this prediction...

>>Not to worry, the DiskTrend folks were very interested in him and his posting also.<<

Good, now that they are interested, try letting Disk Trend explain their GROSS ERRORS AND OVERESTIMATIONS in these reports posted by Iomaniacs on Sep 13 1996:

Message 275250

"The DISK/TREND forecast predicts that 25.5 million high capacity floppy drives will be sold in 1999. New applications are also expected to boost sales of magnetic rigid disk cartridge drives to more than 9 million units in 1999. "

as you can see, these sales are nowhere near the REALITY that 1999 is bringing. The Unit Sales Rate is nowhere NEAR 25 Million units this year. More like 15 Million at the MOST.

and,

this link contains a chart saying that almost 19 Million "High capacity flexible disk drives" would be sold in 1998. This turned out to be complete bunk, and a GROSS ERROR AND OVERESTIMATION.

If you feel like paying these guys $$$ Thousands for LOUSY ESTIMATIONS, then go ahead. Disk Trend has been bullish on Iomega for years now, and have been plain WRONG. Where is the accountability and credibility?
