Tony Williams has tightened the budget, largely through getting rid of all of the feather- bedding, and is trying to institute performance standards throughout the city's bureaucracy, but he was just elected a few months ago, and should be given a chance.....As far as Barry goes, the problem was his overwhelming advantage in Wards 7 and 8, the poorest, and blackest, wards in the city. He knew how to "get down", and he was an old- fashioned patronage politician. Everywhere else, he either lost, or won by a thin margin...
