Do AOL users have to download something every time another MSFT foil is added to the code?

Good question. Microsoft is requiring a new download every time they add a new hack. I don't see how AOL could avoid doing the same. But there's a significant difference: Those who downloaded Microsoft's IM probably know what's going on and appreciate the game and the fact that they're getting extra functionality with the new download. AOL users, on the other hand, just have the hassle of downloading a new version without getting anything different than what they've had.

We can also be sure that AOL IM users are now fully aware of the other products out there. They might not have been without this skirmish.
