Read the review of his book, users.dircon.co.uk On another subject, I am at page 189 of the "Confession...". It is becoming increasingly difficult to proceed. I was expecting it to describe how people lived at that time, everyday life, their festivals and certain other events like the tiger hunt in the early pages. He does have "Tajias" in Hyderabad. Some "food" he eats. But somehow it lacks the narrative power of the early chapters. He is ditched by his first love but it is not clear why and what happens to her. Based on the character (being a thug), I thought he will be mad as hell and plan a big revenge. Nothing, you never hear about her. He goes to Burhanpur, Indore and Jabalpur (cities where I have spent considerable amount of my time and know them well). I was hoping he would have a reasonable description of the towns. he does not. Anyway, I will plow thru some more. Regards, Satish
