Addendum, forgot to include: As to those pair gain devices the telcos are using to run two lines over one: If you're stuck connecting to one of those lines it theoretically won't affect BT since all it is is another A/D - D/A conversion in the line. BT only needs a maximum 28.8K/33.6K to operate its simultaneous multi-function features. BT will still operate down to 14.4K or less but your data channel starts to suffer if you're doing anything else at the time.
