debra: Thanks for the post. I talked yesterday with the IR people in New York, and they told me that the second ring would be "lit" this
week, and they are all very pleased with their progress. Rings 3,
4, and 5 are all coming along right on schedule. They are also
looking forward to q4 when the company finally reaches EBITDA, that
magical goal for all young companies, especially those in capital
intensive high tech business. They feel confident they will reach
that goal on schedule,i.e., Q4. Moreover, they are pleased with
their new customer add-ons. Evidently, everything is going Viatel's
way right now. I'm sticking to my position;in fact, I may add to it
tomorrow or Monday. I think the earnings report on Aug 4th will be
a really good one. I Bought 10 Oct 25 calls yesterday when the stock
hit 35 1/2. Paid only 1 dollar premium for a three month option. I
thought it was strange, but apparently the MMs just missed it. The
cost of the option was 11 7/8. When it executed the stock had gone to 36, so I was$11.00 in the money, so I wound up paying only 7/8 for the time...about 3 months. Hell of a deal.
Good trading,
Jack Gibson
