C&W plans interactive launch(Pace boxes)......................

INTERACTIVE ADS PLANNED BY CWC

Or use your browser BACK button to return to the previous page. Cable & Wireless Communications is planning to launch interactive advertising on its digital TV service early next year. The development work has been undertaken by its majority owned subsidiary Two-Way TV.
Viewers will be able to respond to a series of on-screen prompts which are linked to adverts. The service will provide advertisers with the opportunity to allow viewers to request information, samples or coupons; to order special offers, enter competitions, book sales calls and to purchase products.
Advertisers are being offered a series of templates so that interactivity can be designed alongside the adverts themselves, rather than forcing all advertisers into the same on-screen format.
Two-Way TV's digital services have been developed as a cross-platform environment. This first roll-out of advertising is on cable but the same services can be offered over terrestrial, satellite and ADSL networks. The company has also been supporting the UK trials of Microsoft's WebTV and claims that its games service was twice as popular as any other service offered during the trial. Two games services, including quizzes and game-shows, are to be launched on different distribution platforms later this year.
