Well, hey this thread is dead....so since it's so quite. Here's a personal. Scott you need to listen...you'll get there eventually. My 9 year old Girl helps out her Mom around the house, and every now and then Mom would give her $5 or $10 for helping out...with the dishes, laundry, dusting ect. It grew over time into one of these....Mom if I do this how much do I get? And it became a barter deal for nearly everything after a year. Well as a kid...they need money...I had an allowance too...$20 a month for mowing the lawn and such...and for that it became expected that those were the things I did to get an allowance. But...I can also remember when the first of the month came around I had to catch dad with $20 in his pocket or he had to remember to bring it to me....never got paid on time. Sometimes I got 2 months, just before the County Fair. Well....I've been doing this now for a month...She gets her allowance from CheckFree $10 every 2 weeks, not much...but how much does a 9 year old need? Like a Clock...do you know what I mean? Here's the interesting part...my 7 year old Son now wants to have chores to do so he can get one too. If you haven't tried it...you should...they get off on it, the kids...count on it and strive for it! The Check is in the Mail...thanks CheckFree for making that simple part of responsibilty so simple. Her eyes really light up when she rips open that envelope, sees her name on a piece of paper and it all means getting paid for a job well done.....LIKE A CLOCK. And at the same time allows me to teach her how this stuff works, she's very, very interested in what her dady does...because she is old enough to remember when we had little to nothing....now she tells me we are going to live in a manson. And I don't know if I spelled that right either. It is so very, very, very nice to have your childern believe in you. That's what a father is....I think.
