Perhaps John Lazlo should take up science fiction writing.

-- Lazlo developed preliminary earnings per share projection of $1.97 for 2001, assuming 64Mb memory chip prices remain in the $5 to $6 range.

So maybe the earth enters a time warp and we exit 2 years later? Or maybe everyone working on sub .2 micron process technology and 256Mb DRAMs is wiped out by a strange new virus?

But he should really avoid anything requiring arithmetic skills:

-- In effect, Lazlo says every $1 increase in DRAM prices over the next 12 months could loosely translate into another $1 in per share earnings.

-- For 2001, he assumes prices will hit $5.50, but if prices hit $7, Micron could post EPS of more than $5.

1.97 + (7-5.50)*1 = $3.47 != $5+

bought my last round of mu puts. oct 47.50s

Picked-up some August 55s myself, at 1 9/16.

What a crazy paint job at the close. Where do these goofy trades come from anyway? 500 shares @$60 at 16:07 when the price for the only two trades in the previous five minutes (same exchange) was 59 5/8. ???

You better hope that Mr. Preissler wasn't covering the toutfest this week!
