**** OT **** The shooter in Atlanta announced, "The market is down," and then began shooting everyone in sight.....

I was at Merrill Lynch in Miami on Monday, October 19, 1987 when a customer came in and shot the regional Vice President in the chest and head and then his broker... the VP died in his chair, the broker tried to run out of the office and was shot in the back and survived... the shooter then shot himself and died..... the shooter was short a bunch of puts and the DOW dropped 508 points that day... he couldn't meet the margin call and was distraught.. as it turned out, he was also a federal witness protection program participant, no one knew at the time..... this is the second time I've heard of such a thing, but, the first time it happened I was there..... today's incident saddens me and gives me the willies.....
