My man! Looks like you got balls the size of oranges and faith in AMD like in rock of Gibralter!

May the force be with you!!

Good luck,
Chuck

P.S.: Hey Kap, now we know why we saw the pop in AMD this morning ;-)

Looks like you entered a fraction of a point below where I did.

What are you going to do if AMD doesn't go up to 30 in the next couple of months? Personally, that's my biggest concern.

I was wondering about the high volume today :-)

I hope (for my sake) that you do well. In at $22 and still waiting. Best of luck to you, me and AMD. We'll all need it.

Mani

I assume from your extreme bullishness that you converted all your portfolio into September call options :^)

re: "Someone please remind me to get out at $30!"

I certainly will not. You may want to seriously re-evaluate your position when and if a significant climb occurs; however, the possible upper bounds to AMD's move in the next 3-5 years is to the $500+ level. This is not a prediction; it is the result of a "scoping" study and is only a very raw possibility.

Regards,

DARBES

Scumbria,

You really have guts. Not because of what you did, but because you told all the potential gloats on the OTHER thread.

Kap.

Scumbria,

I'm pleased to report that as of this morning, I shifted my entire portfolio into AMD.
I am looking forward to a very profitable couple of months.

Welcome to the club! I also put the majority of my portfolio into AMD (10,000 shares). But this is very risky. Intel has a very good chance of finding a way to spoil AMD's party, if AMD doesn't spoil it themselves. The K6 is in terrible trouble. What will the inventory be after this quarter (6 million)? I was also particularly troubled by Raza's comment in an interview after he quit that the K7 faced marketing hurdles (he ought to know the troubles they might have been having lining up OEMs). At any rate, I believe that there is going to be an absolutely huge loss in Q3, and analysts will start to seriously question the viability of the company. But, if AMD can hold off their pre-announcement until late August, we might be able to benefit form the K7 introduction hype. I will be seriously thinking about getting out on the afternoon of August 10th, and getting back in after the Q3 warning (probably at around $14 per share). After that, the sky could be the limit, but I'll wait to see how the K7 is doing.

Pravin.

Re: "I'm pleased to report that as of this morning, I shifted my entire portfolio into AMD. I am looking forward to a very profitable couple of months."

Are you sure you want to do this?

I think the chances of AMD ruining (yes, RUINING) the x86 market are pretty good over the next six to nine months. That means no winners, only losers--Intel and AMD. Here's my take on probabilities:

AMD "wins": AMD takes a pat of the profitable high end, stops bleeding: .2

Intel "wins": Intel jacks up their voltage, solves their process problems, and outmarkets AMD, relegating Athlon to the midrange or worse: .3

Everyone loses: Price war in the high end. Intel cuts off its nose, etc. List prices on the highest MHz desktop chips fall to the $200 range. .5

Not a scenario where I'm putting all my money in AMD.

Kevin
