I immediately leave my ISPs mandatory home page

I'm curious (since it may mean one of my favorite AOL-bashing lines is wrong):

Three questions: Which ISP do you use that has a mandatory home page?

How do they do it in the browser? Do they delete the options (IE) or preferences (NS) selection in the menu?

Can't you use a different browser to get more control over your environment?

This is what I'm getting at. The more savvy computer users become that all mighty port doesn't mean a darn thing. But yet we as investor's seem to buy into it. Thanks
