Ray, I've been thinking about your post on buddy lists for some time, and it is a very interesting subject. I wonder if you've come across much since you posted on in in July?

I was looking into a company called Software.com and they have some interesting programs built around the whole electronic mail system. They also have some products for SMS (Short Message System), which plays against the idea of buddy lists and sending quick notes to people.

They seem to be working with many of the wireless operators. Are you familiar with their products. If not, look through their web site at software.com .

What I don't see is how they exactly fit into the WAP style future? Probably they are WAP compliant and I've just not found it yet, but perhaps they stand outside of WAP?

I'd like to know more about this subject and would appreciate any comments.

Regards,

Mark
