Buy Out? -- never!

I understand that xlnx and altr both have significant poison pill plans in place should it be a hostile take-over attempt. If not hostile, no way will xlnx or altr want to be bought, no benefits whatsoever. They have both had trememdous capitalization, revenue and profit growth in the past with no end in site. Plenty of cash on hand for both companies, both are fabless and have plenty of fab capacity at foundries. They would see no benefit in being bought.

IMHO,
schlep

Based on Xlnx's CFO who said recently that xlnx is currently the 3rd largest silicon company in the silicon valley in term of market cap, and is only smaller than Lltc and Intc. It would be interesting to know who would have the money to buy Xlnx. For LSI, a smaller company to buy to bigger one, I don't believe in it.
