Re: I would say there is sufficient demand for about 2M Athlons in the fourth quarter. The only question is, how many can AMD make?

..and how many motherboards will be available?

I had thought the PIII architecture would not allow it to get up to speeds beyond 600MHz and that is why intc was coming up with coppafeel. However Anand is saying in this article do not be surprised if there are PIII's at 650 or 700. Is that possible? Maybe Charles or Ten you know the answer to this question?

Not really, but hopefully the chip set and availability of motherboards issue will be history by then.

Petz - RE: "I would say there is sufficient demand for about 2M Athlons in the fourth quarter. The only question is, how many can AMD make?"

I have an almost completely opposite view from you - I would say AMD has the ability to make nearly 2M Athlons in the fourth quarter. The only question is how many can AMD sell?
