Ground Zero:I think we'll rally from here.....

I agree. But I think the markets are much better then they were in Aug 98. Worse case, we go sideways.

Hutch.
PS: Not that agreeing, will make it so.

GZ,

But the rally may not have a legs to it. Interest rates hold the key and you are short the bonds.

Unless of course the rally is powerful, then ignore this post. <GGG>

GZ,

I think it should rally from here too, but watch the dollar for a clue as to foreign money pulling out, that could keep a lid on any rally.

OT

Just heard over the radio Monica Luewensky(spelling) was rushed to the hospital after her car flipped on the side on the freeway in CA. Gee, which side of the car was she sitting on? Which animal does she like better, the bear or the bull? I would really like her weight to tip the market tomorrow in my favor. Go Monica!

>>>>>I'm amazed at all the bearishness around here at SI... these markets are a two way street and these markets love to surprise everyone and do the opposite of what most people expect<<<

GZ, yes the bearishness is pervasive, but remember only two weeks ago the market was invincible, the fed had turned "friendly" and we were going into a great earnings season, now we are headed into the worst historical season of the stock market, not a time to step under the knife, let the hero's try to form some bottom here.

take a look at the russell 2000 monthly chart and tell me that doesn't look like the nasdaq bear coil off the october 97 mini crash.
