Hi Ken.

I find them fascinating to explore the potential senarios and permutations possible!

I can understand that. There are all sorts of odd things that for some reason I find fascinating. Just as long as you're doing it as an intellectual exercise and not working yourself up over it--and as long as you understand how your animation over your hobby may affect others.

O.T. .....then I am amazed you don't like, or perhaps haven't been exposed to the ultimate in heroic themes, and wonderful melodies...such as Strauss tone-poems, Wagner, Brucker, Mahler !!

Wagner is first on the list of anyone who likes heroic music, although I must say I have some difficulty ignoring his politics. Strauss is o.k. Like Der Rosenkavalier. Saw a production of Ariadne auf Naxos last year and actually walked out during intermission. First time I ever did that. Mahler and Bruckner are too modern for me, although I have a lot of respect for Mahler's work.

RE the tone poem, I find that an agreeable musical form. I'm fond of the Moldau and Finlandia and Romeo and Juliet.

RE popular music, I do enjoy the oldies. Also like Dixieland and Andean Folk Music. If you're not familiar with the later, check out:
