Dear yousef and all: Just read an interesting article today in the Palm Beach Post computer section. In this article the author basically said one should be WARY of buying a PC with anything other than INTEL INSIDE. Why, because according to him, there is ONLY one reason for a PC manuf. to use anything other than INTEL and that is COST. So if they are going to try and produce a cheaper computer by buying a cheaper processor then WHAT ELSE have they cheapened up on?? His point was little things in a computer that you would not be aware of also come in different price ranges and that there is a reason some cost more than others, that is reliability etc etc. Sure, might work when you first unbox it but what of the future? This is a synopsis of the article but it sounded plausible to me, also one heck of a marketing tool for INTC if that kind of info got widely distributed. JDN

yousef, RE: upgrades on intel from solomon smith barney and pwj!!!

Neither analyst upgraded INTC today; rather, both reiterated their buy recommendations. SSB analyst upgraded INTC 2 weeks ago. Lazlo at PWJ was a lot more timely, upgrading INTC back in April '998 when the stock was 39.
