HDC, I agree that EMC's likelihood of going downmarket does appear to be a classic "Innovators' Dilemma". The fact that EMC and NTAP have almost mutually exclusive customer bases and that NTAP innovated in the NAS market while EMC owns the SAN market is further reinforcement of the idea.

However, NTAP is enjoying 60% margins. EMC has 30% margins, as I recall. That does not fit the Dilemma model and may cause EMC to move down market. What do you think?
