Let's be fair. Finland was not fighting so much with the Germans as it was fighting against the Russians (aka Soviets), who had invaded them prior to the Germans invading Russia.

Although I do not know as fact, I do not think that Finland ever declared war or had war declared against it by any country except the Soviet Union. I have never heard that they interferred with the "Murmansk convoys" where the U.S. supplied the Soviet Union with war supplies to fight the Nazis. Perhaps some historian on this thread could provide more details.

The Soviets thought that they would have an easy time invading Finland, but they did not count on the outnumbered, outgunned and friendless (the rest of the world was too busy fighting the beginning of WWII to protest the Soviets invasion) Finns putting up the fight that they did. The Finns, while defending their homeland, put up a hell of a fight and deserve a lot of respect.
