Thanks Charles, I am surprised that no one has responded to this,

First let me clean it a bit,

Technical data

Processor Athlon Pentium III

Manufacturer AMD Intel

L2Cache 512 KByte 512 KByte
L2clock half processor clock half processor clock
FrontSidebus 100 mc/s 100 mc/s
Design Slot A Slot 1
Multi-processorsupport yes yes
Transistors 22 million 9.5 million
Production technology 0.25 Micron 0.25 Micron
Chipflaeche 184 mm2 140 mm2
Transistors per mm2 113,414 67,857
Core voltage 1.7 V 2.0 V
Capacity k. A./ 43,5/40/36,5 Watt 33.6/30.8/28/25.3 Watt
Requirements of A./25,6/23,5/21,5 ampere 6.4/15.4/14/12.7 ampere
electric current k.

Any comments about the 1.7 core voltage (Paul, anyone!)? How about
the stated 650 Mhz slot? The power output of the K7 also looks very manageable!

Charles, from your post it seems that the Athlon has set a new record. Not for speed but rather for drawing more power than any PC component in history ... including the Pentium/66 and the 10,000 RPM Cheetah hard drive. If AMD is smart, they will include a package of marshmallows and some sticks with every chip.

"Requirements of electric current k. A./25,6/23,5/21,5 ampere 16.4/15.4/14/12.7 ampere"
