Barry,

I checked through the list of Cal. Representatives. The guy's name is Brad Sherman. His district is in the Los Angeles area.

Again, hats off to Ron Insana for calling this guy's bluff. It makes me sick when a politician gets on TV and just starts spouting off lies and mistruths, and the person interviewing them just takes it at face value. Kinda like, "George W. Bush was O.J.'s accomplice," or "The Republicans just sponsored a bill in Congress that sentences all senior citizens to death at Auschwitz in an effort to cut back on Social Security expenditures..." and the interviewer just says, "Wow, that is interesting--those bastards!" This guy Sherman thought he had carte blanche to spread his pack of lies in order to convince the public that tax cuts would instantly restore us to the Carter days of 15% inflation. Ron backed him down like a big dog. You should've seen Sherman's face when Ron countered with, "Congressman, I can pull up a chart of inflation in the 1980s to show our viewers if you'd like." The big thud sound you heard was Sherman taking a dump in his boxer shorts.

On a semi-related note, I cannot believe these latest round of polls the liberal media (read: CNN, etc.) are showing that say that the American public does not want or care for a tax cut. I'd like to see that sample group they used for the poll. What did they do, interview 1000 residents of a public housing project? I can see the questionnaire: "Question: with the U.S. Government running a surplus, would you rather:

a.) receive a tax cut as a rebate for the amount you have overpaid the government that has resulted in this surplus; or

b.) pay the same in taxes so that the government can distribute the surplus to the same louses who have learned how to effectively milk the government--the people and groups who constantly usurp more in benefits than they pay in taxes should be rewarded with an even higher level of benefits."

I think an appropriate wake-up call would be to eliminate withholding from peoples' paychecks. If Joe Sixpack had to write a check for the total amount of taxes he owed each April 15th, instead of having it automatically deducted from his check each two weeks, his opinion of tax cuts would change dramatically. And Joe would be less likely to support these spend-crazy goofballs in congress who forget all about the people and businesses whose taxes the budget is actually balanced on.
