JG - I am just not convinced that Ericy is serious about cdma when it continues to sell new TDMA systems on the basis of easy upgrade.

No joke. I wouldn't expect Ericsson to start pushing CDMAOne equipment until it has integrated it into its product line (my guess is late '00 to early '01). Of course they will probably make some smaller sales where they are explicitly asked to bid CDMAOne, but ... .

RE: ERICY and Argentina.

I think it is worth remembering that it takes two to make a deal. The customers may have wanted the TDMA system and since they are paying why should ERICY say no? Maybe TDMA will work just fine in Argentia for many years to come. Maybe they will need to scrap it within five years. Whatever happens, it won't make or break CDMA and the Q.

WRT ERICY and Argentina, isn't it possible that the bidding or negotiating on these contracts started before Ericsson acquired Qs infrastructure division?
