I agree that deconstruction isn't a novelty. As I said yesterday at the beginning of the discussion, I think it's really using techniques developed in the social sciences for analyzing other cultures, and applying them to our own culture.

There you have put your finger on my difficulty with deconstructionism as a philosophical construct (please forgive the pun). It is a tool, IMO, and nothing more.
