sorry to disappoint you, but I have a solar still, two of them in fact, and they are working quite well, thank you. furthermore, there is a BLACK g.e. silicon caulk that works better than anything else in constructing one of this solar stills. everyone who is planning on building one should be getting this black lining material before those tubes are all gone due to demand at their local 'tru value' hardware stores. have you built one since ken convinced you that walking to and from the lake with several gallons of water isn't exactly a practical solution to your water needs after jan 1, 2000, let alone on a daily basis? bacterial growth for your information is not a concern when one uses some of the other, more healthy purification methodologies currently available. furthermore, have you ever heard of 'rotating' your stored water supply either from the still or from the store? it only takes an oil pencil or a crayon type marker like we used to use in grocery stores to price canned goods in the 'olden days' (and erase with a swipe of a rag) to date/label each container and then use the oldest first all the time. regarding public swimming pools: don't use them and haven't for years because of the chlorine. regarding taking showers: bought a chlorine removal gizmo for my shower years ago from an outfit, still in business in tulsa ok. Refills are still available last i heard. i've already stated that we don't drink chlorinated water either. my wits are just fine. i've been using them for 73 years. daresay that is a tad longer than you have. If you are only 36 years of age, does that make you a half wit? don't insult the intelligence of those of us who have damn near thought of it all and are prepared and continuing to prepare who hang out on here hoping to help or pick up a clue as to what the government in particular is up to, just because you haven't. and save all that 'frightened for me' stuff for yourself, sonny. as i recall: you are the one planning on walking halfway across the united states to your daddy's in the pacific northwest when it gets tough in DC after your 2 weeks of water and 3 weeks of food run out. by the way, what size shoe DO you wear? ken tells me to keep my eyes peeled around my 3 artesian wells for 'ronprints' and i don't have a clue if you wear nike's or non-skid boatshoes :)
