Dear Rarebird thanks again for another great post..hope people read it.. this little incident probably goes along with what you are saying.. let us watch what happens with the stock market wealth effect- interesting thing happened to me today in ride in elevator.. let me call her everyman....she has been a conservative saver for her retirement..put her money in bonds..hoping for growth..modest be it..then she gets talking with friends who are making bonzana in stock market..especially with those momentum non earnings stocks.. prudently she decides..these bonds are paying nothing compared to what her wise friends are making..off she goes and puts money into some of those momentum stocks..she is a bit upset now..she is beginning to feel the pain..she is beginning to wonder how long she can stand the pain.. ps I wonder how many of these speculators who worry about their retirement and have been playing the momentum stocks are getting margin calls..wonder how many individual investors have left the flock of mutual funds..wonder how many are on margin..wonder if they wish they had remained investors rather than speculators..
