Huh? There is nobility in getting fired?

There may be nobility in how you deal with it. But the truth is NOT beautiful. It is, as it is in many cases, ugly, mean, and ignoble.

Question: If we ever meet and you say to me "how are you" do you REALLY want to hear the truth about my heart disease, my intestinal polyps and the current state of my intestinal tract, my detached retinas, all the rest? Those are truth. They are NOT beautiful.

Maybe you want to hear all that.

But I will tell you now, if we ever do meet and I say to you "how are you" I do not want a full and truthful accounting of how you are; I want a "fine, thanks" or "well, I've been better" level response, even if it hides a whole lot of truth.

So, X, if I pretend to understand you in this matter, you would agree our truly imperfect history and truly imperfect "great men" are beautiful?

The noble thing would then be to say, "Yup. Get over it and get on with your life?"
