By "facts," I did not mean that you had to do research or cite a source for everything, Christopher. Frankly, I was only hinting at what I see as the problem. Perhaps you really know what I am referring to. :-)

where we are chatting without the need to examine and edit every word.
In short, this is play, not work. If I'm a little casual about it at times, so be it.

I tried to sit on my hands, I really did. I said, no Rambi, no, don't do it. But I can't stand it!!!
Is this the same person who tore Sidney Reilly apart limb from limb over his grammar a few days ago, mercilessly, and with intent to humiliate? Who positively salivates over errors and the bloody game of Gotcha? How do we know which CH we're addressing?

Then why the hell do you attack every time I make a typo? Those who live by the OED, DIE by the OED!!!

As to sticking to the "facts," I view discussions on this thread not as legal briefs where precision of fact is key, every fact must be cited to authority, and every word is scrutinized -- I get enough of that during the day. Rather, I view this thread as an office cooler or after-dinner conversation where we are chatting without the need to examine and edit every word.

In short, this is play, not work. If I'm a little casual about it at times, so be it.
