Charles - <As far as I can tell everyone is on the board>

I have heard otherwise, specifically referring to at least one of the companies I mentioned.

BTW, do you expect any major Japaneese OEM's to announce support for K7 at launch?

Charles re:As far as I can tell everyone is on the board except Dell and Dell is a "when" rather than
"if". The problem for AMD may be ensuring a glitch free, orderly ramp to make
customers feel comfortable with moving their high-end designs to AMD.

I have heard some interesting rumors lately otherwise. Let's put it this way: you are way off base with that statement. Jerry had to go down on his hands & knees and "beg" to get some of these OEMs to buy-in. <ggg> Forget about a $400 blended ASP. You are right about the "bug" potential in K7 though. Also, you might want to have your AC running on high when using your 600-Athlon.

PB, you are seeing the same benchmarks that all the others are seeing. Intel's offerings
show no promise of being even close - so the question becomes that of timing. Can
AMD pull off good volumes(mu) starting Q4 '99 or will they slip into '00? That is the
question.

Intel offerings show no promise of being close??? You are truly naive.
BTW, too bad you sold your Intel in the 50s...new all-time high today! How's your CMGI doing?

Chuckles - re: "As far as I can tell everyone is on the board except Dell (for Athlon Launch).

You might want to check with any sources you have at Gateway.

I believe there is a good chance that Gateway will not be selling a laughALON system any time soon.
