An automotive engineer would probably want the SOFC to provide all of the H2, so that supplementary fuels to the engine would be unnecessary. I don't think you would want to mix 'n match H2 with gas or diesel, could be a fuel injection nightmare. Also, much cheaper to calibrate your injectors and computer for one type of fuel. I'm not an automotive engineer, this is just my best guess.

Beyond my expertise, but what you suggest seems to be a more realistic approach to dealing with our current air quality issues, so I would say that GLE is working on a very well conceived idea.

GM
