TheCow, re >When I get over being po'ed I might try installing again<

That's where I'm now. :) I uninstalled ALL of System Works
and noticed that my new PC now boots much faster and responds faster
when opening programs. Then I relented and re-installed Antivirus
and Cleansweep. The PC is still pretty fast. I run Win Doctor from the CD occasionally. I'll never reinstall Crash Guard. It's success
rate is low and I'm NOT worried about losing work. Never had a crash
while doing a spread sheet or word processing. Browser and Win98 crashes are just delayed [usually] by Crash Guard. Of course it
also helps to power down occasionally. I find that after leaving
the PC idle for hours with many applications open, it crawls.
So I don't do that any more. If I'm going to be away for several hours I power down.
