MSFT is without doubt a great company, but don't forget it does not have any Olympian Status. COMS in its own sphere of influence can easily maintain its lead even against a Titan like MSFT.

Until now MSFT's Windows CE is known, proven and an accepted flop. Its forward looking strategy is belated and it has no advantages over PalmOS that it can capitalize on apart from its' money.

4 Million Palms sold and going strong. Aggressively licensing OS. Continually innovating, a generation ahead of the competition with its Palm VII. Many networking technologies that can be leveraged into the Palm devices. Palm is very user friendly and faster.

Even if Windows CE was dumped on to the market, MSFT would still be at a price disadvantage, because you need more memory to operate a CE based devise, and that costs money.

The consensus is still largely in COMS' favor. As MSFT continues to try to improve on CE COMS will continue to gain market share.
