. . . ATTENTION LURKERS and ALL . . .

I have good news and bad news.

The good news is:

I have just received word that Silicon Investor is reportedly no longer charging for membership. I was told that anyone can register for SI on the new beta site. I was given this shortcut to the registration page: beta.siliconinvestor.com

That's it. . . it's all free.

And now for the bad news. . .

What this change means to those of us that have enjoyed SI for so long. . . .is that information, rumors, etc posted on SI no longer have any more weight than those posted on Yahoo.

This means that any Tom, Dick or Harry can now walk into a Kinkos, etc. anywhere in the world. . . register onto Silicon Investor, Raging Bull, Yahoo, etc. . . .then pass along a rumor. . . .walk out . . .and nobody is the wiser.

The one safety feature we had here at Silicon Investor was that credit card information could provide a positive ID, should there be a problem with a poster passing along MIS-information. Now that safety feature is gone. . . .right along with that simple and clean message board website.

I would imagine that it is only a matter of time, before SI gets back on the same level as RB, Yahoo and AOL. What is to keep that from happening, if there is no accountability. . . .?? Extra police??

More good news. . .

It is looking like by Labor Day, there will be a brand new message board oriented financial community website. It uses the very latest messaging technology [not yet one month old]. . .where positive ID is required and scammers will be kicked. . . call it a "gated community". The options for communications and the focus on DD and trading is second to none. . .There are many more surprises that I cannot cover here.

And one more thing. . .SI, RB, Yahoo, AOL and Motley Fool all have their message boards set up by stock. In my opinion, this is a breeding ground for investor/stock marraiges. It all started with the IOManiacs that became a "family" of sorts. . . while they watched their "baby" drop from 30 to 3. The new Investor Community will NOT be divided by stock symbol for this very reason.

Note: I offered a collaboration of such to SI and separately to GNET nearly 2 months ago. . but they never even responded to my email.

So we save those extra nickles for the exciting optional areas. I wish I could spill the beans. . .but it would cause too much of a stir. . .and I am enjoying having it all hush hush while in development.

But if all goes as planned, we will be moving into our "new HOME" by Labor Day. . .of course I will keep everyone informed.

Rande, I know you talked about it last night, but NEM was up pretty good today as well. In fact, it was up 3.6%, right in line with your portfolio.

As for the market action today...........has anybody noticed that anytime there is a rally, people are selling right into it? Techs are really weak. Is this the bottom? Seems to me like this is a replay of last year.

Like I said, I will wait until Friday mid-morning before I make any major decisions about the future.

Can't wait for the new site Rande.
