Bob,

If I remember correctly, ML's upgrade on TBFC did not help TBFC that day. TBFC had a spike and then dropped precipitously. ML's performance on internets is pretty lousy. That is why I have been very suspicious about the stocks touted by ML.

>>Non-performance factors may prevent a stock from getting a near-term Buy rating. In those cases you often see the "12-18 month" wording. I can only recall one instance (TBFC) in which Blodget upgraded a stock from 2-1 to 1-1 on price weakness. INIT is clearly in upgrade territory, but the analyst has a history of taking no action.<<

Dont know bloddy! But ML upgraded NETA to a 1-1 when the price was over 30 with price target of like 80, even the day it crashed to 27 they still reiterated the price and recomendations and the next day at 22, and then a few days later when the stock was @ 10 they put in a neutral. Just holding during their downgrade would have let me recover another 50% in a few months. And didnt merryl have a sell rating on MU and INTC? I really dont think an ML rec will move a stock one way or another. Didnt expect INIT to move much today either on their rec. Just expected them to bring quality companies. Guess its not just their analysis that stinks. No wonder hardly anyone uses them anymore to come public.
