If you look at it that way, as a way to gain momentum, I see how it is good for Via.

But they are still going to have to throw away either the Winchip or MII/Jedi/R2D2 ;). There is no point of them continuing to sell and market both when both basically go in the same systems. If they can increase their production and have two forces pushing one or the other, they may get and retain more design wins.
