Regarding the strength of the dollar.....exactly what is the
position of the Fed? I sense that they want some kind of a balance.
Too strong a dollar means that international trade goes sour
one way, and too weak a dollar means we get hit the other way.
So the question is what do they expect of the dollar, and how
much of a decline in its value is enough for the Fed? I suspect
that the interest rate maneuvers are in some (large?) measure
governed by currency questions.

Any insights are appreciated.
