We saw Dark City last night, and liked it. It was interesting. Takes some patience to get through, and a lot of the special effects look too computer, like the new Star Wars. But the ideas are pretty interesting, and they went to a lot of work to present them.

We seem to be getting a bunch of "on the edge" type movies these day ~ not the moral edge, the edge of a universe. Like Truman, Pleasantville, Dark City. Films that maybe question our world's mechanical structure, or offer illuminating parallels.

That sure sounds familiar. Was he in a boat? Was there a cave?
Did his parents get lumps and die?
I wish we had better movies at our Blockbuster. We get 50 copies of I Know What You Did Last Summer AGAIN! And one copy of something really good that disappears.
