I do- but there is a difference between what I embrace intellectually and what I want to see for entertainment. For example, I know that a certain percentage of men are abusive to their wives and children. We had a next door neighbor who beat his wife. I did not ignore the situation but there was nothing much I could do either- except allow the teenage daughter of that family to sleep on our sofa a few times. Now although I accept the truth of that situation, and indeed embrace the fact that this same type of situation is repeated all over the country, I do not wish to view this kind of domestic strife as my recreation. I do not turn from the truth, I generally do not avert my eyes for the horrible, but I don't take pleasure in suffering- although one can see nobility in the way some people bear their suffering it is not something I actively seek out to watch.
