Hi Peter:

I don't know if CHKP is on the Goldman Sachs E-Commerce Index (GSEC)but I do know Mary Meeker (the goldman internet analyst) did have CHKP on her list of favorite internet stocks published in Barrons (in late January or early February of this year). She had a list of around 30 stocks with a certain number she really liked (at the time CHKP was not one of her top favorites). When I say not one of her top favorites that is not a negative but she was really strong on some others (I forget but prob. ebay, aol, etc.) and CHKP did just have a poor cc.

I was only following CHKP and only keep tabs on the nets because of the sentiment impact to CHKP. Remember CHKP will still sell off if the nets continue to break down but $57 should be the base (unless we have strong mutual fund redenptions and margin calls, and Wednesday looked like margin calls where the broker had to sell client stocks to cover the margin). CHKP is trading @ less than 30X this years earnings with over 30% growth. Unlike the 1st tier nets which are still trading as if they will grow @ 50% plus per year for the next 10 years (a better growth record than MSFT over the past 10 years, which is why I invest in the infrastructure guys like CHKP). Value will show after a while even it the stock retraces.
.

Hope this helps.

Also, I sold my Aug calls today. I see the stock retesting the $57 area while the market churns prior to the open market on the 24th. While we may see $70 again I don't think it would be prior to the expiration. So I am now officially on the sidelines with CHKP (I was nervous on what the cc forward guidance would be so sold my shares).

This stock investment has made up for a lot of my investment learning mistakes.
