John,

We can explore and analyze the Art of violence, like in "Saving
Private Ryan" , which I have not seen, and that is okay, but we can not do the same for own sexuality...Are we afraid of our cultural
education, to challenge the Art of Sexuality. I don't know..

I know the detractors will say, "Saving.. is about War and that is true.. but from what I heard, "Eyes is about Sex as treated casually, but war and violence is treated without emotion and casually too.

I don't know.. I just wonder about things and look at all sides.

good luck tomorrow.. coug

Hi John,

That's a well-written review-- and I think when EWS gets to the dollar theatre, I'll give it another viewing, this time with the mindset I had in theatre classes. THere are two ways to watch something--at least for me. FOr me the best films are those I can watch for enjoyment and realize at the end that I also got a great deal from them..or vice versa. I don't think I can enjoy this one, but I can try to appreciate the art of it. I STILL think it was deadly slow and Kidman's verbal habits irritated the hell out of me.

I really liked the reviewer's statement:
Another brilliant thing about Kubrick's movies is that they rarely contain a definitive point, leaving interpretation open to the viewer. The following are some of mine, but in no way, may be close to yours or anyone else.

It allows us to respect each other's reactions to this film as valid, even if different.

I think I read somewhere that the original novel was not nearly as sexual - but I could be wrong because I don't remember where I read it and can't check.
