I really never understood how people (both big and little guys on Wall Street)panic in such a rush over idiotic notions as a company such as Microsoft planning to offer free internet access!! Just for a second let us assume Microsoft is foolish enough to offer free internet to the whole world out there. Does anyone know how much this is going to cost them? And believe me even for Microsoft with its deep pocket the notion of offering free internet (or cheap internet for that matter) is something out of the question. What would happen when everyone wants high speed access (via DSL, Cable, etc.)? Is Microsoft going to provide them free as well?! What does offering free internet bring Microsoft anyway? The talking heads of Wall Street have pointed out that Microsoft OS is in danger and by offering free internet it will be saved!! If one really thinks the majority of people will not be using a PC with Mictosoft Windows installed on it in order to acces the internet, and rather will be using something like Corona (Sun's next generation thin client machine), or Apple's iMac, or whatever, then he/she must immediately sell ELNK shares if he/she is holding some! But then again, if he/she believes in such event taking place, then he/she should consider that ELNK is the default ISP for iMac, and who knows it may be the default ISP for Corona also (unless of course Sun makes a deal with Microsoft to offer MSN free to its customers!!!!!!!!) So perhaps there is hope for ELNK after all even if Microsoft does offer free internet access to protect its losing shares of the PC operating system market!!!!! It is at times like these that I feel really good for holding on to some disposable cash to buy stocks such as ELNK that are sold off on absolute idiotic notions! Regards,
