Mike,

"Basically, buy went up yesterday if there was good fundamental news."

I don't think we read the same book. The book that I read by the same title was a whole lot more involved than anything you described above. My interpretation was that it was all about trying to identify new and important paradigms in the field of computer technology and then investing in those companies which would appear - by certain well laid out criteria - to have the best chance of dominating that new market niche through having a proprietary technology that carries high switching costs. Whew! Long sentence, sorry. In fact, I don't remember anything about making investment decisions based on price. From what I recollect, the authors clearly favored reading tech rags and a couple of financial journals in order to carry out the gorilla hunt. I will admit that it is a little far fetched to think that one can pick out tornados and the ensuing gorillas with any ease. I would feel lucky just to get a King or a Prince once in a while. In fact, I think that true gorillas may be a thing of the past as nobody wants to have another price gouging Microsoft, Intel, or Cisco ever again.
