The nets are melting down. The NASDAQ has corrected by definition although there may be more downside. Daytraders are hurting. Margin calls have increased in recent weeks. Less speculation overall in the market bodes well in the coming weeks. Third quarter profits will be impressive compared to one year ago.

But we must consider the possibility that we may get an air pocket in earnings as the Fed. or the bond market will slow this economy one way or another. Any air pocket would not occur until next year sometime.

I agree. Any slowdown in the economy engineered or natural would take months to play out and not be reflected in profits perhaps until next year.
