Let's see... 1. Did you check the trash? Yes. 2. Did you file the inbox messages in a folder? Yes. 3. If you did.. did you look in the folders? Yes. It's gone all right. SI sure is trying hard to get their members p*ssed off at them. If SI were an individually publicly traded stock(not combined with GNET), this would probably be the equivalent of EBAY crashing. I would short this stock because of the terrible interface. They !@#$#& (this is French, by the way) a good thing up so it could get "better." Why do companies get stupid that way? Coke made that mistake once. They did the right thing by sticking with "SI Classic." <hint, hint!> Why do they do that? A guess: Sales aren't meeting expected forecasts anymore. Maybe SI's subscriber growth has been declining substantially. Raging Bull has a winning format; it copies SI, and has the open platform like Yahoo. All they need now is the policing feature, then they can beat SI. I know some of the boards that used to be white-hot have dried up into barren holes because the source of conversation has moved to Raging Bull. I wonder if others out there have seen this phenomenon also... By the way, it looks like the framework for the new site somewhat resemble's Microsoft Outlook, with the inbox, outbox, and trash. (I wonder if Paul Allen's investment in GNET has found a way to trickle the Microsoft empire's formats into our once-beloved SI.) One more thought: the only technical difference now separating SI from the other boards on the net is the policing feature where they kill spammers. That and the smart people who frequent SI are what keep me here. Let's see if they can get the others to leave as well. RT
