It's gone all right.

Mine are gone too now...in the Beta site. They must have read my post..figured I slipped through the cracks..and then came and zapped my messages <g>

In the Classic site the messages are still where they belong.

Why do companies get stupid that way?

I agree Go2Net is running the risk of upsetting the apple cart. Even if the beta site is a 'better' site..ie better design standards..more functionality..(just assumptions for the sake of argument)..If the membership is not onboard then the risk of failure is high.

I once tried to explain to my wife why a wide screen format movie (letterbox..with black bands at the top and bottom of the TV set) was better. I also tried to explain it to my son. They listened and tried to understand..BUT they still LIKE the full TV screen better. And guess what..so do I!

I believe what the beta site is missing is the like and feel and fun aspect.

The feel is now corporate. The site does not feel unique anymore. I do not know why. Perhaps it is the predominance of the solid color bands..squaring off the browser window. The message seems somewhat dwarfed by the solid mass of blue that dominates the header. I believe this contributes to the feeling of distance one senses in the beta site.

Beta has not yet gone turbo. Management is listening. Bryan has indicated that the SI classic look MAY become a custom option.

If Go2Net moves SLOWLY with the beta implementation I believe it can be a success. As a realist I do not see an about face. Our best efforts should be directed at making the beta a winner.
