The thing about your global warming position (I won't glorify it by calling it an argument, because it is not that well formed) is really "follow the money." You have stated your belief before, as I recall, that this is just an entrenched bureaucracy trying to drum up something to do. However, if you look at the cast of players who do not support the reality of global warming, it is simply people who not only have a huge profit motive, but are extremely selfish and short-sighted, as well as the ignorant and generally anti-everything-which-would-restrict-their-freedom-in-any-way crowd.

In fact, even some of the huge energy companies now publicly support efforts to stop the cataclysmic global-warming, because they realize, apparently, that an ecology which is failing ultimately threatens their own families and their ability to make profits at all.

Since you are not a scientist, your prediction that in 2020 it will be a non-issue is not reassuring to me. And I do not believe that the media or the government are trying to instill fear in me. In fact, the Americans use overwhelmingly more resources than their numbers would dictate, and we are dragging our feet on the Kyoto accords. The alarming things I read are, instead, scientific articles about glaciers melting, droughts, forest fires, the rain forests being destroyed, the increased rate of diseases like skin cancer, the measurable disappearance of the ozone layer, and other concrete indicators of global warming. None of these things are "vastly inflated", and are, in fact, facts.
