If I'm correct, they are focused on data rates - that can be important for servers. And are glossing over latency - important for productivity applications. SDRAM is 4 way interleaved on servers, giving streaming data capability potentially greater than that of rambus if DDR 133 is used. But even 800 Mb (100MHZ SDRAM interleaved) is probably enough for most servers. Multiple rambus channels would give higher data rates, but probably aren't necessary for 99.9% of applications.
